This October youth retreat is themed around the concept of christian unity and purpose. We have seen in the last year and a half, a massive shift in the way churches gather and function. This is a microcosm of the movement that has been growing perhaps since the reformation. The church, especially in America has left some of her roots. Roots grounded in community, purpose, Spirit-led conviction and mission. We’ve traded that in for independence, cafeteria christianity, and lukewarm faith.
The christian life is a radical life. It should be filled with obsession with the gospel and single-minded dedication to Christ and His church. The purpose was always the great commission! Now it seems to be "go to college and when you're appropriately old, get married and have kids." How can we refocus in the full flow of day to day life?
This is a turning point. While the church gathers online, the eucharist is accepted virtually, and we are more likely to be gathered at a party than to be gathered into prayer. We as a younger generation can shift the future of the church back to unity, purpose, community, and life together in Christ!
This retreat will be filled with fun, food, friends, and awesome time with the Lord. Don't miss out!
